Marking the end of National Tree Week, Cottenham Village College invites you to the official unveiling of a new sculpture created by artist Wendy Briggs. The work has been inspired by the natural environment and by workshops with students and local residents.
Join us for this special event in which we will be wrapping the trees on the drive of the Village College with fabric, creating a temporary installation to celebrate trees and conservation.
Saturday 11 December
10.30am – 12.30: Tree dressing activity - come and help us wrap the trees in ribbons
1.00 – 2.00pm: Official unveiling of the new sculpture followed by refreshments
* In preparation for this event there will be a workshop for local residents on Saturday 4 December, 10.30 – 12.30. The idea is to stencil text, poems and messages about trees, nature and conservation onto large ribbons which will then be wrapped around the trees. All ages welcome – call into the College and take part.
